A Legacy Gift is your desire to help continue the WLAC mission of education and entertainment.
Some ways this can be done is to contribute yearly during your lifetime and or through a bequest in your WILL.
Goal of the Legacy Society: To insure the continuation of the mission of education and entertainment for our community.
Q. What is The Warehouse Legacy Society?
A. The Legacy Society is a means to recognize patrons and friends of the Warehouse who have included a bequest to The WLAC in their WILL or those whose life time gifting to the WLAC have been exceptional. These members’ extraordinary commitment honors the past by securing the future of the Warehouse to continue our mission of education and entertainment.
For almost 40 years the WLAC has been a large part of our Community’s fiber. The entertainment and educational programs provided by the Warehouse has impacted literally thousands of people’s lives. Our Children’s programs have been a significant influence on the character and ambitions of many of our youth. Included in this brochure are a few testimonials by some who participated and benefited from these programs. Whether they became a Las Vegas headliner or a successful business person, a great deal of their success they contribute to the lessons they learned at the Warehouse. Our children are the real legacy of our efforts.
Yearly gifting beyond the cost of your Season Tickets is a good way to support the mission of the WLAC. This will provide the Warehouse with the resources to keep and grow the current services being offered. A yearly tax deductible charitable gift to the WLAC is normally equal to the value of the donation. Each year if every member of the Warehouse gave just a little more, even $100 more, that would be a sizable amount of money.
A bequest in your WILL is a sure way to make your wishes known. There are several advantages to a bequest in your WILL. It’s easy to do. Just a few sentences create your bequest. It is revocable and only good until your WILL goes into effect. It is versatile. You can name a specific item or items for donation, an amount of money, or create a memorial for a loved one. Your estate should also be entitled to an unlimited estate tax charitable deduction for gifts.
As a member of the Legacy Society you and your gracious support will be recognized and remembered for generations. As a patron of the Arts and supporter of the education of our children, you will have left your mark on the continuing Legacy of the Warehouse.
Q. What is a “Legacy Gift”?
A. A Legacy Gift is your desire to help continue the WLAC mission of education and entertainment. This also allows you to build charitable purposes into your overall financial, tax and estate planning goals. Some ways this can be done is to contribute yearly during your lifetime and or through a bequest in your WILL.
Q. How do I get started with a charitable gift program for the Warehouse?
A. This is a highly personal decision. The Warehouse will provide any information we can to assist you, but financial and legal advice is something we cannot provide. You should talk to a variety of specialists (including your attorney and financial advisor), your family and other significant individuals in your life. Learn as much as you can about planned giving options and the kinds of gifts that make the most sense to you.
Q. Are WILL bequests always in the form of cash?
A. You may leave in your WILL a cash donation, real estate, personal property (i.e. artwork, collections, etc.) insurance proceeds or publicly listed securities. Consult your financial advisor for more options.
Q. Do I have to indicate my wish to leave WLAC a bequest in my WILL?
A. Yes. To be certain that WLAC receives your bequest, you must state your intentions in your WILL. Without a WILL, your property and assets are settled in probate court, according to state laws, regardless of your wishes. Informing the Warehouse of your desire, would be appreciated.
You should consult your attorney and financial advisor about these options and their implementation. The WLAC cannot offer legal or tax advice.
Please ask the WLAC staff for information to discuss with your financial advisor on how you can leave a Legacy Gift or make the WLAC part of your annual tax deductible gifting program.
