The Miracle Worker is the story of Helen Keller who lost her sight and hearing after an illness at the age of 19 months old. She is a lively and healthy little girl who is locked inside her body. The play is set in Alabama in the last decade before the 20th century. Helen's desperate parents are unable to communicate with her and hire Annie Sullivan, a troubled young woman who has been training as a teacher of the deaf, to teach Helen.
